De Beque, Colorado

De Beque Colorado sits at the foothills of the roan plateau. Named after Dr. W.A.E. de Beque in the late 1800s the area became a ranching community. The Colorado river flows throw De Beque which provides for the vast agriculture still present. The gas and oil industry booms and busts aren't foreign to the area, yet this small community enjoys the designation as the only wild horse sanctuary city in the west.

De Beque is easy to navigate to. From Interstate 70 at exit 62 travel North on 45 1/2 road just over the Colorado river.
